About
Rebecca Geekie is a Massachusetts-based artist whose paintings explore perception, ambiguity, and the search for orientation within uncertainty. Working with images that hover between the familiar and the unfamiliar, she is drawn to the unstable threshold where recognition has not yet fully settled.
Her work is informed by her upbringing in coastal Newburyport, Massachusetts, her love of nature, and a lifelong spiritual inquiry into consciousness and embodiment. Following a traumatic brain injury, this inquiry became more immediate through the experience of having to learn more consciously how her own brain processes information. This deepened her interest in how we interpret what we see, how recognition takes shape, and how we orient ourselves when certainty is disrupted.
Rebecca is also a teaching artist, bodyworker, and Reiki Master. Having lived abroad and worked across creative, educational, and healing settings, she brings a contemplative sensibility to her practice.
